This week?

For the past 4 years I have for the most past been pretty good with the wait. That doesn't mean I was fine with it, there just was no point getting upset, when I have no control over things.
But this past week, I've really started to get (how shall I say) freaked out! I want this wait to be over with, I want to see my little ones face, I want to know how old she is. Every night I pray that she is really young, and that she is healthy, and from a good orphanage where the nannies spend time with the babies.
January went by with no referrals, and Chinese New Year is coming up. In the past they have always sent a batch out before leaving for this holiday. CNY is on February 14th, but they usually close up most everything a day or so before, for the people to treck back to their families to celebrate.
SOOOOOOOOOOOoooooo, will we get "the call" this week? I think so, or at the latest next? BUT (and this is a big one) they have surprised us before, and done something they've never done, so who really knows.
I'm kind of hoping for Thursday. It will be the anniversary of me and DH's first date, seventeen years ago.
Our agency is trying to find out if they have started matching yet, but have not heard. I'm ready! Is the baby's room ready? No Is the quilt done yet? No
But I AM READY!
If anybody is actually reading this, I promise to post info as soon as we get it.
Crossing fingers, toes and anything else!

Bugs

Hi there! Sorry for no update sooner.

There are currently no rumors out in the blog world about when referrals might come this month, so no news on the adoption front, except for the fact that we had to renew our home study for the forth time. The state requires it to be updated every year. So we got to enjoy going to do our physicals again, having blood drawn, and tested. Yep, we still don't have *Aids* (I put it in the little marks so I would not draw in anybody who might google the word) so we are good for another year.

Now let's talk bugs. There are many different definitions for the word bug. Shall we explore some of those?

1. A true bug.
2. An insect or similar organism, such as a centipede or an earwig. See Regional Note at lightning bug.
3.
a. A disease-producing microorganism: a flu bug.
b. The illness or disease so produced: "stomach flu, a cold, or just some bug going around" (David Smollar).
4.
a. A defect or difficulty, as in a system or design.
b. Computer Science A defect in the code or routine of a program.
5. An enthusiasm or obsession: got bitten by the writing bug.
6. An enthusiast or devotee; a buff: a model train bug.
7. An electronic listening device, such as a hidden microphone or wiretap, used in surveillance: planted a bug in the suspect's room.
v. bugged, bug·ging, bugs
v.intr.
To grow large; bulge: My eyes bugged when I saw the mess.
v.tr.
1.
a. To annoy; pester.
b. To prey on; worry: a memory that bugged me for years.
2. To equip (a room or telephone circuit, for example) with a concealed electronic listening device.
3. To make (the eyes) bulge or grow large.Phrasal Verbs:
bug off Slang
To leave someone alone; go away.
bug out Slang

2. To avoid a responsibility or duty. Often used with on or of: bugged out on his partners at the first sign of trouble.Idiom:
put a bug in (someone's) ear Informal
To impart useful information to (another) in a subtle, discreet way.

I'm sure you get the idea.
Anyway the past few days has been quite interesting around our house, full of many bugs.

From Wednesday night through Thursday morning Lily was in the bathroom pretty much all night with the stomach bug. It seemed to be over with fairly quickly and she went back to school on Friday, only to be checked out at noon, sick again. Then at about the same time DH and Madilyn start heading for the bathrooms. So far I am the only one who has not thrown up yet.
Excuse me for a moment so I can run outside to find the nearest and biggest tree.
O.K. then, it has been for the most part a lazy day, and I'm certain it will be another fun filled night.
Oh, there was another bug in our home last night, while Madilyn was hugging the potty, oh around midnight or so, she was in full crying mode, and all of the sudden she says, "There's a lady bug." Yep, sure enough there was a ladybug crawling around on the mirror. Usually if you see one this time of year they are dead. But not this one, she was very active and apparenlty not aware that it is winter time. I did make a note in my head, and wonder if this is a little sign. For those of you who are not in the adoption loop, ladybugs are considered a good luck sign that referrals are soon to be on the way. Well, I just wanted to make a note of it somewhere, thinking it would be cool if this was the date that is on our referral, the date we were matched with our baby.
Sorry no photos, I've got to run check on my patients!

Wow, the time does fly!

Hello there, sorry I am such a slacker.

I thought I would make a quick little update in case anyone is checking in from my Christmas card letter. Hi, welcome to my new blog.

First things first, I know that I said we were next, BUT the CCAA had other plans. It seems that they just want to keep sending out smaller and smaller batches of referrals. On December 28th referrals came out for those Logged in April 1st-3rd 2006. Three little ole' days, and the worst part is, that the 1st and 2nd were a weekend, and hardly anybody gets logged in on the weekend, so that means it was pretty much a one day batch. Nobody was expecting that! Everybody who has a 4-05-06 LID (log in date) thought we would get one this time, but no. So do I even dare say again that now we are next? Nope not gonna do it, even though in my heart I do think we will be, I just don't want to utter those words again, and then be crushed by a one day batch.

Well, now that that is off my chest, how about a little updating!

Are you ready for lots of pictures?

The last time I posted it was in October, so how about some Halloween photos.

White princess kitty & Black ballerina kitty

This is the first year that I let the girls pick the own costumes, and this is what they wanted to be. Need I say more? Oh, and yes I made the costumes.
Sorry, but blogger is running slow tonight, so you will have to wait for more pictures.
I do promise that it will be in the next day or so!
